In a thing many Birmingham sports are known for, playoffs have been a huge success for sports like water polo and football.

Birmingham boys water polo entered the division one playoffs as the fourth seed, and quickly swept through thirteenth seed Mayfield and fifth seed Cleveland. However, their downfall came to first seed Palisades High in the semifinals.

Birmingham football looks to make it far in the playoffs too, as they enter as the fifth seed in the open division, a new division in the Los Angeles City Section that showcases the eight best rated teams.

Birmingham battles fourth seed Fairfax High this Friday, the 17th.
